This superbly printed & wonderfully researched & written book, by Brendan Jackson (with Geoff Broadway), not only explains the rationale behind the building of the famous Portland Bill Lighthouse, it also gives an insight into the company that designed & built it, right through until the glass works finally closed.

With over 125 pages, 40 of which are illustrated, & supported by Arts Council England, this hard back book is a high quality product in both content & presentation. A must for keen followers of the history of Chance Brothers in particular, & Smethwick in general.
