You don’t have to be able to use a computer, or understand the Internet. We will give you one to one help using birth, marriage and death records, parish records, censuses from 1841 to 1911, wills etc. Also, if one of your relatives was in the military during WW1, we may be able to find their service records, medal rolls etc.
We have access to the Internet and membership of various research sites as well as the Smethwick Telephone on film. Plus our all new Silver Surfers Club is designed to offer assistance with coming to grips with computers, the Internet or just simply how to use your smart phone. You can even ask us to help you draft letters, or get unbiased advise on anything that may be causing concern. Just call in & see us, you will be pleasantly surprised !
The workshops are held on three Thursdays each month from February to December as part of our all new Silver Surfers Club. There is a nominal charge which also includes tea, coffee and biscuits, but aware the process can be compulsive and once started you may become even more determined to find out as much as you can ! You can book a session via the “Book Now” button below or simply just turn up on one of the dates listed in our Events Calendar. The sessions run between 10.00 am to 2.30pm. If you have any questions please ring 0121 555 7278 or send an email to The Centre at [email protected]
If you are unable to attend in person, for a minimum donation of £10 we will start and see what we can find out and mail it to you. Obviously we cannot be sure what we will find until we start the research. Just send us what details you can of your parents and grandparents, your name address and telephone number, together with your donation to The Heritage Centre and we will take it from there.
