Harold Colley, of 74 Cheshire Road, was awarded the Military Medal and Victoria Cross for bravery in WW1. He is remembered on several memorials in Smethwick, but was awarded the additional tribute of this new memorial, which was installed on the 100th anniversary of his VC action -25th August 1918.
