Projecting Britain: The Story of Ealing Film Studios in words, pictures and film clips

September 18 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Chris Sutton talks about Sir Michael Balcon and Ealing films studios. Balcon was born in Birmingham and became production head at Ealing Studios guiding their output of classic films which showcased Britain and the British way of life on screen
The unique Ealing in house repertory company style saw regular use of a pool of directors, technicians, supporting and lead actors. With much of their output filmed on location it also enhanced the ‘real’ feel.
The talk will feature clips from many of the much loved classic films such as Kind Hearts And Coronets, The Ladykillers, Dead Of Night, Went The Day Well, The Lavender Hill Mob, It Always Rains On Sunday, Passport To Pimlico, The Blue Lamp and more!  The talk is on from 1 – 3 and the cost is just £5.
